What is House of Europe?
House of Europe is a programme funded by the European Union and implemented by Goethe-Institut Ukraine fostering professional and creative exchange between Ukrainians and their colleagues in EU countries and the UK.
When should the project have been implemented?
We celebrate projects and activities carried out during the full-scale invasion (2022–2025). This applies to all categories except Leader in European Integration, where results from the last five years are considered.
Who can apply?
There are two ways to apply:
-
You or your project is nominated by a cultural institution, EU partner, or recognised expert.
-
You apply yourself, providing a letter of recommendation from a recognised organisation in your field.
Does the project have to be supported by House of Europe?
No. You are welcome to apply with projects implemented with the support of other programmes or funded independently.
What legal form is required to apply?
Legal entities from Ukraine and the EU may apply for most categories. The type of registration does not matter. The Leader in Culture category is open to individuals only.
How can I apply?
Submit your application via the online platform. The application language is English.
To apply, log in to the platform, click Apply, select the House of Europe Award chapter, and choose the relevant category.
What is required to participate?
Tell us about your project and upload materials that best showcase it: photos, videos, links to publications, and other supporting documents.
Please also include a recommendation from a partner.
What is the application deadline?
Applications are open until 5 March 2026, 15:00 Kyiv time.
How will the winners be selected?
Projects will be assessed based on innovativeness and impact, sustainability of results, and the significance of cooperation with partners from the EU or the UK.
We will prioritise projects addressing the following themes: equal opportunities, inclusion, environmental sustainability, national minorities, digitalisation, media literacy, decolonisation, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Who will select the winners?
We will carefully review all submitted applications, check their compliance with the formal requirements and award criteria, and compile a shortlist for the expert jury. The winners will be selected by professionals and thought leaders in the fields of culture, media, publishing, and the civic sector from Ukraine and the EU.
We will announce the jury later. Follow our updates on Instagram.

What can strengthen an application in the Preservation of Cultural Heritage category?
Cooperation with EU partners or the use of European heritage preservation practices will be considered an advantage.
